Outgoing Mail

One day I picked Cam up from his daycare and he had made two art projects.
Basically, they had him put some glitter splotches on two separate pieces of construction paper and figured I would want to hang them on my fridge.

On the way home from school,
Cam got the idea that he could fold these pieces of construction paper and make a book.

Then, he had "a dea" (an idea) that he could get a stapler and staple the edges of the book so it would stay together.

A few seconds later, he decided making a cover would make it like a book and he could even write his name on it and give it a title.

By the time we got home, his "dea" had transformed into writing a message inside and mailing it to Grandma. We didn't have any envelopes or stamps, though, so for the next three days he didn't let up getting me to go buy stamps, having Rhett bring home an envelope that was big enough and getting it off in the mail.

He even had me walk him out to the mailbox in my pajamas so he could put it in the outgoing mail around 8pm.
He wasn't going to settle for the mailman coming the next day so we tiptoed out in our barefeet and sent it off.
He was SO excited.
I was SO excited that he finally would write something on his own and not argue about it.

My mom got the letter a few days later and sent him a card back with two dollar bills in it.
She wrote it simply and clearly so he could read it and said he and Brenden could each go buy some ice cream.

The next day we went to McDonald's after school for ice cream and the Playland.
Cameron literally screamed for joy.

I guess I need to take him out more often.
And have him write more letters.
