Butterflies or Lightening?

We were at Walmart yesterday and suddenly Cam was out of my sight. I looked around and found him zipping up and down the aisles on a pink and purple two wheeler with training wheels and butterflies. I was horrified, knowing that he would run into anyone and everyone and not watch where he was going, but it was actually about time he got a new bike. I steered him back to the bike racks and we found one just his size and gender. (Haha....isn't funny how we categorize even toys as male and female? Why can't he like butterflies and pink things??) Rhett called and said that while I was at Walmart, we should look at getting Cam a new bike. So, with everyone in agreement, he rode a beautiful red, blue and yellow BOYS bike out of the store. He was so excited about it, he rode it again when we got home, when he woke up from his nap, and later that evening when Rhett got home from work. Then I realized that he didn't have a helmet and mentioned that he needed to have one to be safe. Well, then he couldn't ride the bike until he had a helmet, he told me. Yeah, right - he was on it again the next morning, but talked about when we were going to get him a helmet. He talked about the helmet all through lunch, through the nap that he wouldn't take and finally, in the car ride to Walmart. We had found one online that he really liked that had Lightening McQueen on it and went and found it on the shelf. He was so excited and giddy about it that we had to have the customer service desk cut open the package before we even left the store.

He was so loving that helmet that he didn't even want to take it off when we got in the car...

...or when we went into Best Buy...

(ironically, the first thing he found at Best Buy was Cars the movie)

...or, of course, when he was riding his bike the second we got home.

He wouldn't even take it off when he got in the tub later that night...

...and even Brenden thought his helmet was cool.
